The best and most effective way to followup with someone is: Face to Face. However, most of the time Face to Face is not possible.
The 2nd best way is by Live Video Chat. You can setup a FREE account on Zoom or use Facebook Video Chat in your FB Messenger.
The 3rd best way is by Video Recording. For this, setup a FREE video recording on Loom. You can be on camera, just use a screen shot or image for the video, but still use your voice.
Watch out for the speed on Loom. Most prefer 1x speed. Nice thing about Loom is you do not have to upload your video when you’re done. You just click “share” and copy the link and email or text the link to them.
On Loom you can have 25 videos on the free account. I believe each video can be up to 5 minutes on the FREE account. If you fill up the 25, just delete some of your older videos.

Also, you can make a video with your cell phone. The more your visitor can SEE your face, the more they will believe in you as well as what you are saying. Try it.
When compared to Live Video Chat and Video Recording – email and text messages would be less effective ways to followup. Of course I do use email and text messages, but they are not as effective.
